Divya Jyoti Gurukul is a non-profit organization founded with an aim of complete development of children at physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual level by providing a conducive atmosphere that integrates the science of spirituality, through the use of different psychological techniques, with day-to-day imparting of knowledge. Our vision is to establish a chain of schools throughout the country where there will be an equal emphasis on spiritual development of a child coupled with modern education – a participative approach to teaching and a free, informal, enjoyable, student-centric atmosphere for children in the school.

We are guided solely by the aim of creating well-educated and spiritually evolved citizens of tomorrow. The evidence that ‘we walk the talk’ can be witnessed in the significant transformation in the children at Gurukul. Like our students, our teachers not only strive to become better teachers but also more evolved human beings.
The state of education in India is so pathetic today that it does not attract the best of talent. The persons who join schools, colleges and universities do not do it as a matter of choice; it is in fact, sadly, the last resort, to be taken when other avenues of employment are exhausted. Such teachers cannot shape ‘Indians of Tomorrow’. The teachers at Gurukul are not persons who have selected education as a career, for them, it is not a medium of earning bread and butter. Education, for them, is to shape indians of tomorrow and even “Citizens of the World”. Our teachers are highly qualified with strong moral character and who have taken Reiki attunement and practice Reiki healing and meditation daily.
Another hallmark of Gurukul is that every child is given a personal attention. We have a ceiling on the number of children in a class to ensure that teachers give a personal attention to every child. The teachers observe a child carefully so as to monitor his/her development with respect to studies, psychological evolution, sociability, and spiritual progress. We keep a record and if any adverse development is witnessed and the problem is such that it is not amenable to normal methods, Reiki healing is given to child. In case the problem is of a greater magnitude, the founder and our Guru Shri Manoj Kumar Vimal is informed whose prayer and healing has been seen to have an instant and dramatic effect on the child.
Gurukul encourages children to be active partners in learning process. Learning entails interaction, imbibing of what is being taught. It is greatly enhanced if the process is participative instead of having a distinction between “the teacher and the taught”. We encourage children to participate, to ask questions, and to challenge the norms thereby fostering the development of positive values in children.
At Gurukul, we regularly monitor the changes in psychological profile of the child. A comprehensive chart of psychological traits observed in a child maps the progress of a child on monthly basis. Some of the sample traits that are used for evaluation are: ability to listen and follow instructions, adhering to one’s turn while asking question or participating in activities, leadership potential, active engagement with others during play-time, and diligent use of study resources etc. The changes observed are carefully noted by the teachers in a chart. If a child shows development of some undesirable trait, the problem is discussed by the teachers with parents and attempt is made to solve it through counselling. In cases, where the child does not seem amenable to these steps, the teachers adopt Reiki techniques to achieve desired behavioural change in the child. In more serious cases, our Guru Shri Manoj Kumar Vimal is requested to pray for the child.
The children at Gurukul are regularly checked by medical doctors so as to ensure their proper physical growth.
Unlike most schools, we give equal importance to both Hindi and English. While recognizing the critical importance of one’s mother tongue in the development of cognitive abilities, we also appreciate that a child needs outstanding competence in written as well as spoken English in order to excel in the modern world. Thus, at Gurukul, we focus on a balanced development of linguistic abilities in children.
Secular outlook in life, with an emphasis on the essential unity of religions of the world, is very strongly emphasized at Gurukul but, it is done in a very unobtrusive way, without taking recourse to high-sounding but ineffective moral precepts. Sayings of saints of all religions, prayers to them are regularly taught to children. They also celebrate festivals of various religions with full participation.
Reiki healing, meditation and learning of sacred chants have been included in the daily activities of the school. A day begins at Gurukul with prayers and imparting of mass Reiki healing to students by teachers who are all trained Reiki practitioners . Every Saturday, children participate in “havan’, a traditional process of great antiquity in India, in which various divine powers are prayed to shower their blessings. It leads to the transformation of the inner core of the children. The transformation that occurs is very deep, taking place at the level of energy bodies and hence, this transformation is permanent, lasting with the child throughout his life. The children at Gurukul develop a connection among their various energy centers, found in the energy bodies of all humans, with the corresponding inner power. This inner power then guides their lives, nourishes them and protects them.

Dear Parents,

The world has changed enormously since Divya Jyoti Gurukul greeted its first students in 1999, but its mission to develop exceptional students with strong human values, spiritual understanding, and sound theoretical as well as practical knowledge remains as important now as it was then. We believe in not just building students’ future but also in imparting values to develop them as good human beings.

We believe in complete development of children at all levels – academic, physical, mental, emotional and spiritual – by providing an atmosphere conducive for complete growth through the integration of different psychological techniques and the science of spirituality such as mediation, yoga and pranayam among others with day-to-day imparting of knowledge. Our teaching pedagogy focuses on holistic learning with a philosophical approach of harnessing the ancient and be innovative with the modern.

Our team of experienced and dedicated teachers teach, work and play with students to ingrain the knowledge, values, and life skills early on in their lives. We strongly believe that school is integral to a child’s social interaction after their homes and consider it as an important responsibility and ensure that child not only grows intellectually; but, also feels safe, secure and friendly in a joyful yet disciplined environment. Environment which not only help them become a person of high intellect; but, also, passionate, humble and happy individual.

Along with the routine academic teaching, we equally encourage and facilitate the participation of children in extra-curricular activities such as martial art, physical education and training, theatre and plays (a chance for every child to come on stage – to develop confidence and mental strength), drawing, and dance. We also arrange visits to science museums and teach scientific concepts to children in a creative manner. CURRICULAR

Our objective is to provide a creative space for students to dive deeper beyond set boundaries. The institution has right faculty who have taken Reiki attunement and practice Reiki healing and meditation daily. We utilize innovative teaching methodologies so that every child utilize their full potential.

Sports, art, dance, music, drama, yog, and Reiki sessions are an intrinsic part of our programme and students are encouraged to pursue them with equal vigour.

We believe that learning isn’t restricted to classrooms. Therefore creative and on ground activities are an integral part of our teaching methodology.

Our 1:12 teacher-student ratio enables us to provide personal focus on every child.
